PACKET PICK-UP

All participants must pick up their packets (race number, goody bag, and race shirt) no later than Friday, April 27, at 7 pm during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC). The expo is open Thursday, April 26, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Contact the race hotline (217-722-5025) if your travel plans prevent you from picking up your race packet (race number, goody bag, and race shirt).

Dynamic bib assigning: We are using cutting-edge, dynamic bib assigning, which speeds up our race number pickup process quite a bit. On Tuesday, April 24, we will email each entrant a unique QR code. Print and bring to the expo a copy of your QR code (or show it to us on your phone) to be assigned and receive your race number. If you plan to pick up a race number for someone else, you must have a copy of that person’s QR code (paper copy or on your phone).

The address of the ARC is 201 E. Peabody, Champaign, IL. (See Google’s map.) For parking, see our parking map.

If you can’t get to the expo, you can have someone else pick up your number for you as long as that person has a copy (paper or electronic) of the QR code we emailed you.

LATE PACKET PICK UP ON APRIL 27, 2018

New for 2018: We are offering LATE packet pick-up at Body n’ Sole Sports, 1317 N Dunlap Ave (Rt 45), Savoy, IL from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, for those entrants who cannot get to the expo before it closes at 7:00 p.m. You will be able to pick up your race number(s) and goody bag(s) but not your race shirt(s). We would be happy to mail your race shirt(s) to you after race weekend, however. Please bring a check or money order for $4.00 (made payable to C-U Marathon, LLC) to late packet pick-up to cover the cost of postage.

GOODIES

5K entrants will receive a unisex technical shirt, color TBD, and a drawstring backpack. Finishers get a great medal, food and drink after the race, and one beverage at the 4th Mile on Friday. (Entrants must display their race bib to receive the beverage.)

SHIRTS

Unisex technical shirts come in adult sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL and youth sizes S, M, and L. The 5K shirt color is TBD. See shirt sizing chart here.

Wave Start

To lessen overcrowding on the 5K course, in 2018 we will continue to use a wave start. When entrants register for the 5K, they will pick one of the estimated finish times below:

  • A: 25:00 & faster
  • B: 25:01 to 31:00
  • C: 31:01 to 37:00
  • D: 37:01 to 43:00
  • E: 43:01 & slower
  • F: Just here to have fun
  • G: Walkers (of any pace) + ALL STROLLERS

Your corral letter will be printed on your bib number. Strollers are allowed in the 5K only. If you have a stroller, you must be walking and start in the walker corral.

The fastest runners are assigned to the first wave and occupy the first start corral. After these runners have cleared the start line, the next corral moves up to the starting line. After a predetermined interval, the second wave starts and so on.
