PACKET PICK-UP

THERE IS NO RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP. Packet pick-up will be available at Body n’ Sole on the following days/times: September 4 from noon to 5:00; September 5 from 1:00 to 5:00; September 7, 8, and 9 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.; and September 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The address for Body n’ Sole Sports is 1317 N Dunlap Ave, Savoy, Illinois.  You can also pay a fee to have us mail you your race numbers and race shirt.

Contact the race hotline (217-372-1444) if your travel plans prevent you from picking up your race packet (race number, back bib, and race shirt).

Dynamic bib assigning: We are using dynamic bib assigning, which speeds up our race number pickup process quite a bit. On Thursday, September 2, we will email each entrant a unique QR code. Print and bring to Body n’ Sole a copy of your QR code (or show it to us on your phone) to be assigned and receive your race number. If you plan to pick up a race number for someone else, you must have a copy of that person’s QR code (paper copy or on your phone). If you can’t get to Body n’ Sole, you can have someone else pick up your number for you as long as that person has a copy (paper or electronic) of the QR code we email you.

The Back Bib is integral to the Run to Remember experience. All entrants receive a front bib with their name and race number. But everyone involved with the race—from entrants to volunteers and sponsors, from race staff to police, medical, and public works officials—will be given a 5 x 7 back bib that says “Today, I Remember…” with a blank space where each person can write the name(s) or event(s) he/she is remembering that day.

RACE GOODIES

Entrants will receive a Bella + Canvas-brand short-sleeve unisex jersey tee. Finishers also receive a great medal and food and drink after the race.

Postrace food will be distributed in grab-n-go fashion—all the food items, plus your beverage and your finisher medal, will be packed in a paper sack that you will pick up north of the finish line. Your postrace goodies will also include a Papa John’s pizza card good for a free one-topping pizza ordered online at more than 20 participating Papa John’s locations in Central Illinois; Hannibal, MO; and Burlington, IA.

RACE SHIRT & FINISHER MEDAL

Bella + Canvas-brand short-sleeve unisex jersey tee, made of airlume combed and ringspun cotton/polyester. The race shirt will feel oh so soft!! The shirt comes in adult sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL and youth sizes S, M, and L. The race shirt color is heather ice blue. See shirt sizing chart here.

WAVE START

To lessen overcrowding on the 8K course and provide safe spacing as part of our COVID-19 mitigation plan, we will use a wave start. When you register for the race, you will pick one of the estimated finish times below:

Wave A: 40:00 & faster (sub 8:02 pace)

Wave B: 40:01 to 47:00 (sub 9:27 pace)

Wave C: 47:01 to 52:00 (9:28–10:28 pace)

Wave D: 52:01 to 58:00 (10:29–11:40 pace)

Wave E: 58:01 to 67:00 (11:41–13:29 pace)

Wave F: 67:01 & slower (13:30 pace and slower)

Wave G: Walkers and strollers (any pace)

There is a 2-hour time limit on the course (that’s 24:08/mile pace).

Your corral letter will be printed on your bib number. The fastest runners are assigned to the first wave and occupy the first start corral. After these runners have cleared the start line, the next corral moves up to the starting line. After a predetermined interval, the second wave starts and so on. Strollers are allowed in the 8K. If you have a stroller, you must be walking and start in the walker corral, which is G.

COVID-19 MITIGATION PLANS
