That’s What She Said has been an official partner of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon since 2016, collecting gently-used shoes during race weekend. We have distributed over 1,000 pairs of shoes to local organizations and to communities in places as far as Kenscoff, Haiti.
We are now introducing The Shoe Said Project, in partnership with Share your Soles, to have an even greater impact on the lives of women and children in impoverished areas around the world.
All runners are encouraged to bring their gently-used shoes (all types, all sizes) to The Shoe Said Project booth at the Health & Fitness Expo during race weekend! Our team will sort and clean the shoes and ship them to communities where a pair of shoes can have a life-changing impact.
All shoes collected will be cleaned, sorted, and then delivered to our partner agencies. She Said: Stepping Up will be identifying local organizations that serve clients who will benefit from the shoe donation.
All styles of children and adult shoes will be accepted at the shoe drive. Please plan to drop off your shoe donations at the She Said: Stepping Up booth at the Expo.
