Green Street Mile entrants must pick up their race packet (race number, goody bag, and silicone cup) no later than Thursday, April 25, at 7 pm during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC). The expo is open Thursday, April 25, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, April 26, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Dynamic bib assigning: We use dynamic bib assigning, which speeds up our race number pickup process quite a bit. On Tuesday, April 23, we will email each entrant a unique QR code (excludes youth run entrants). Print and bring a copy of your QR code (or show it to us on your phone) to be assigned and receive your race number. If you don’t receive the QR code, we can also look you up by your first and last name.
If you plan to pick up a race packet for someone else, which is allowed, you must have a copy of that person’s QR code (paper copy or on your phone). Contact the race hotline (217-372-1444) if your travel plans prevent you from picking up your race packet (race number, goody bag, and race shirt).
All Mile entrants will receive a 16-ounce logoed silicone cup. From the patio to the campground, beach vacation or daily commute, these colorful, versatile drinking glasses are as flexible in shape as they are in utility. The silicone cup has thick and sturdy, yet squeezable walls that are not too squishy, and a grippy outer surface for extra safety. Perfect for any beverage! Mile finishers receive an awesome challenge coin at the finish line.
After you finish your race and get your awesome challenge coin, enjoy a post-race gathering with food and music at The City Center, adjacent to the finish line area. We’ll be serving up Jimmy John’s Little John sandwiches, salty snacks, bananas, and bottled water. Cash bar available. Awards will be mailed out to winners after race weekend.
You have a number of options for parking for the Green Street Mile, depending on whether you want to park near the start or the finish. The best parking options near the finish line are The City Center, 505 S Chestnut St. (they have 150 spots); the Champaign Public Library, W. Green St.; or Advanced Medical Transport, 408 S Neil St. The best parking options near the start line are Krannert Center, 500 S. Goodwin; D9 parking lot at 910 W. William St; and B1 parking lot at 201 S. Goodwin. Green Street will be closed at Goodwin and Green at 6:30 p.m.; and all of Green Street will be closed at 7:00 p.m. Keep this in mind as you approach your chosen parking location.
Three-deep awards will be mailed to the winners after race weekend. Age-group awards are based on chip time.
