ADDITIONAL NOTES:

We are using a wave start.

The course will be closed to traffic for participants who are averaging faster than 13:45 per mile. Slower participants may continue after traffic is allowed onto the race course, but they do so at their own risk and must follow pedestrian statutes. Race volunteers, the finish line, and post-race festivities will remain active long enough to accommodate runners taking up to 7 hours.

THE COURSE

The race starts near State Farm Center, runs through campus, loops
through Urbana, back through campus, out into Champaign, and
finishes on the 50-yard line of Memorial Stadium.

The course is USATF-certified (Number IL-09126-JW).

PACKET PICK-UP

All participants must pick up their packets during the Health & Fitness Expo at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARopen Thursday, April 28, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, April 29, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

GOODIES

Marathon entrants will receive a high-quality, gender-specific short-sleeve technical shirt (Leslie Jordan brand) and a drawstring backpack. Finishers get a great medal, a fleece blanket, finish line food, and one beverage at the 27th-Mile Celebrate Victory Bash on Saturday. (Entrants must display their race bib to receive the beverage).

SHIRTS

Gender-specific, short-sleeve technical shirt from Leslie Jordan in sizes XS (women only), S, M, L, XL, and XXL. The men’s marathon shirt color is forest green, and the women’s marathon shirt color is dahlia purple. See shirt sizing chart here.

AGE GROUPS

Three-deep awards are presented in the following age-groups:

17-19
20-24 25-29 17-19 35-39

80+ 75-79

Note: Marathon participants must be at least 17 years old on race day.

AWARDS

The marathon has been named the RRCA Illinois Marathon Championship.

Prize money will be given out to the top 3 female and male participants. Prize money will also be awarded for the top 3 female and male masters participants (full marathon only). Prize money winners are not eligible for individual awards. A masters runner placing in the top three overall is awarded the place and prize money in the overall race and not the masters race.

Prize money awards are based on gun time.

$500 bonus for breaking the overall record while winning the race:

In addition to the prize money, there will be first, second, and third place awards for each of the age groups listed above. Age group awards are based on chip time.
