We appreciate your patience regarding the status of our 2021 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Race Weekend. We have the following updates for you.

1. We have confirmed with the University of Illinois that the 2021 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Race Weekend, originally scheduled for April 29–May 1, 2021, cannot take place in its original date slot due to state and local pandemic restrictions.

2. We have also confirmed that the University of Illinois and Division of Intercollegiate Athletics calendars are currently available for a new, additional running event to take place in Champaign-Urbana in the “window” of September 9–11, 2021, prior to the 2022 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon Race Weekend. What that event will “look” like, we don’t know at this point in time, but we will explore all viable options, taking into consideration all factors. We are excited for this opportunity to expand our race offering and look forward to sharing more information soon.
