In the unlikely instance of a runner collapsing during a race, the most likely first responder is another runner, which is why we’ve created this short video—Runners to the Rescue: Hands-Only CPR Saving lives starts with you—and hands-only CPR.
In our 2024 Christie Clinic Illinois Half Marathon, when a runner collapsed inside Meadowbrook Park, four runners saved helped save his life by performing CPR. As a result of that event, our organization created a FREE hands-only CPR training program. The video “Chain of Survival” tells the story of what happened that day and the program that was created as a result.
