Fifteen local agencies have been named official Charity Running Partners of the 2017 Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon. Via the Charity Running page on the race website, interested race entrants can sign up to create a fundraising campaign for any of the 15 charities. It is also possible for entrants to make a one-time donation to any of the 15 charities during the online registration process. The Charity Running Program is one piece of the race’s expansive charitable arm, which has donated just under $900,000 in its first eight years. The 2016 Charity Running Partners fundraised just over $100,000 for local agencies.
The 15 charity running partners selected for 2017 are the Autism Center of Eastern Illinois, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, CASA, Champaign County Humane Society, Crisis Nursery, CU at Home, Eastern Illinois Food Bank, Family Service, Girl Scouts, God’s Littles Angels Orphanage, Merci’s Refuge, National Kidney Foundation, Prairie River Network-Run for Clean Water, and Salt & Light.
The 2017 race weekend is April 20-22.
