Congratulations! You’ve finished the race and now it’s time to celebrate. Join Visit Champaign County and friends at the 27th Mile Celebrate Victory Bash right after your race on Saturday, April 28.
Starting at 8 a.m., located just outside Memorial Stadium on Kirby Ave. (see the area map for location), the 27th Mile is the perfect place for you to kick back and relish in your accomplishment. Your race entry includes one ticket for a beer, courtesy of sponsor Riggs Beer Company, with your race number as your race ticket. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available as well for those under 21.
Country rock band Brushville will be taking center stage from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to entertain runners and their families after the race. Brushville uses an array of instruments and great harmonies to put on a show that is more of a musical experience than just a show.
For the kids, check out the Action Inflatables, set up to burn off energy of their own.
Memorialize your accomplishment with the News-Gazette Cut-Out for a fun way to see yourself on the “cover” of our local newspaper.
And for when you’re hungry, be sure to check out some of Champaign’s best food trucks, such as Dragon Fire Pizza, Cracked the Egg Came First, Cool Bliss Popped Bliss, the Snack Shack, and C&C’s Kitchen. (The official, complimentary postrace food is served in the Great West Hall of Memorial Stadium. All the food at the 27th Mile is for purchase.)
And don’t forget to pick up your Wooden Nickels from Visit Champaign County at the Health & Fitness Expo (April 26-27) for discounts at a variety of local businesses! You can also pick up Wooden Nickels at the Visit Champaign County booth on the 4th and 27th mile. Check back regularly for the updated list of participants. New businesses added daily!
Plan now to relax, unwind and enjoy Champaign County at the 27th Mile Celebrate Victory Bash!
