That’s What She Said, in partnership with Body n’ Sole Sports, is proud to continue She Said: Stepping Up, a shoe drive to collect gently used shoes of all styles and sizes. She Said: Stepping Up will have a booth at the Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday and Friday, at the Parkland College 4th Mile StreetFest on Friday, and the Meijer 27th-Mile Celebrate Victory Bash on Saturday.
All shoes collected will be cleaned, sorted, and then delivered to our partner agencies. She Said: Stepping Up will be identifying local organizations that serve clients who will benefit from the shoe donation.
We are excited to share that some of the shoes collected will be donated to the children and staff of God’s Littlest Angels Orphanage in Haiti during the next She Said: Soul Journey mission trip in August. This orphanage, founded by Monticello natives Dixie and John Bickel, cares for 80 children who call the orphanage “home.”
This is an amazing opportunity for a small act of kindness to have a lasting, positive impact on individuals near and far who could use something as basic as a good pair of shoes.
All styles of children and adult shoes will be accepted at the shoe drive. Please plan to drop off your shoe donations at the She Said: Stepping Up booth at the Expo or at the 4th and 27th Mile events.
